The personalized feedback study

This master's project aims to improve how the Mia Health app provides individual support and feedback related to physical activity.

The study is now full and is no longer open for new participants.

What does the study involve?

The study has two parts:

Part 1: Survey

About 3–5 minutes

You complete a short survey about what makes it easier or harder to be physically active in everyday life. Deadline: March 1st.

Part 2: Daily messages

About 1 min/day for 2 weeks

After Easter, you will receive one short message per day in the MIA app for 2 weeks and can give quick feedback using the existing smiley ratings. Messages will either be generated by a new LLM-based system or by MIA's current rule-based system, so we can compare perceived relevance and quality.

How the study works

Sign up and complete the survey by March 1st

Before Easter

You'll receive your "MIA archetype" based on your responses – this concludes Part 1

After Easter

Part 2 begins: You'll receive one daily message in the app for 2 weeks and provide feedback with smileys

After Part 2

I will analyze the results from the study

Final report

You'll receive a summary and final report from the entire study

What's in it for you?

  • A short summary of your "MIA archetype" and what type of support/feedback may fit you best (before Easter)

  • A final report and summary after the study is completed

  • You help MIA develop more relevant and useful feedback for different types of users

Privacy and participation

Your responses will be handled confidentially. Participation is voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time.
